Did a Dodgeville birth take the U.S. population
to 300 million? Could be.
The US Census Bureau estimated that the nation’s
population would reach the historic milestone of 300
million on the early morning of October 17, 2006.
Little Shea Luckey, son of Lisa and Tory Luckey, was
born at Upland Hills Health in the wee hours of the
morn on October 17, 2006. While his arrival at 4:45
am was slightly earlier than the projected 7:46 am
time set by the Bureau, it is still possible Shea was
number 300 million due to the margin of error in calculating
such an estimate.
Shea joins his sisters Kyle (5) and Rhyann (4) to
make the Luckey family complete. As Lynn Hebgen Director
of Upland Hills Health’s Birthing Unit stated, “No
matter to us if Shea is number 300 million or not.
We think each and every baby is significant and special!” |

Lisa Luckey cradles her son Shea—quite
possibly the baby to take our nation’s population
to 300 million! |
