Upland
Hills Health recognizes performance excellence at Annual
Awards Banquet
Last Saturday evening Upland Hills Health staff, board members,
and physicians gathered to celebrate individual accomplishments
and performance excellence.
Long-term employees were recognized for their dedication
and service. Recipients of special recognition included Jill
Harrington, Lynn Hebgen, Sele Hufton, Laura McNeill, Audrey
Moellers, Becky Stanek, Kathleen Westhoff (20 years of service),
Carol Ann Kruel, Virginia Haas, Toni Rochon (25 years of
service) and Mary Hanson for 30 years of service.
Dr. Aaron Dunn, MD, a family practice physician on Upland
Hills Health’s active medical staff, received the Kaye
Davis Community Wellness Award. The award recognized Dunn’s
outstanding contributions and unwavering idealism as a driving
force in establishing Iowa County’s Community Connections
Free Clinic.
Sele Hufton, an RN in Upland Hills Health’s Emergency
Department, received the Kaye Walsh Spirit of Optimism Award.
Hufton was cited as a role model in offering care, compassion
and excellent service to patients and fellow workers alike.
Phil Swain, PT and Director of Therapy Services, received
the 2007 Leadership Award for the introduction and development
of Upland Hills Health’s Sports Medicine Program, participation
in the Strategic Planning Oversight Committee and Wisconsin
Forward Award application process. Swain’s management
skills and style were cited as an important catalyst for
effective growth of Upland Hills Health’s therapy services.
Also recognized were Dr. Cathryn Kaiser, MD for her service
as 2006 Medical Staff President, and 2006 Retirees Dr. Marshall
Colburn, Nancy Caldwell, Clare Holland and Judy James.
Troy Marx, Director of Human Resources, acknowledged, “The
Awards Banquet is a unique opportunity to publicly recognized
excellence and to thank all those that make Upland
Hills Health a superior health care organization. Plus we
get to kick up our heels and have a little fun too!”
