State Program taps into Upland Hills Health
Cardiac Rehab program for expertise
The State of Wisconsin’s Heart Disease and Stroke
Prevention Program has been working to establish a registry
of Cardiac Care Patients.
The registry will allow researchers
to track individual patients, care effectiveness, and outcomes
for different demographic groups. In short, the results could
greatly impact and facilitate improvement and effectiveness
of care by monitoring historical results.
As part of the
WiCORE registry development process, the state experts turned
to the Upland Hills Health’s Cardiac
Rehab Managers for input and testing of the system.
One of
only four hospitals chosen, Upland Hills Health was the smallest
healthcare system to participate—and was congratulated
by the surveyor for consistency in utilizing the best practice
process.
Catheryn Brue, Coordinator at the Heart Disease
and Stroke Prevention Program thanked Upland Hills Health
staff for their “thoughtful review of the system,” and
shared that she felt the system “will be far better for your(Upland Hills
Health Cardiac Rehab Manager) help.”
