Commission recognizes positive qualities of Upland Hills
Hospice and Home Care Services
Recently, a Joint Commission surveyor reviewed the Upland
Hills Health Homecare and Hospice team.
“The survey
went really well,” said Deanna Wilson RN, MSN, NHA
and Community Care Director. “We were extremely pleased
that the Joint Commission recognized the excellent care
and quality services available from our Hospice and Home
Care programs.”
The surveyor spent time auditing
employee and patient files and attended home health visits
with both Homecare and Hospice nurses.

recognized by the Joint Commission for excellent care
and quality services. |
Specific comments about
home visits included positive feedback about nurses’ infection
control procedures and patient and family education by
the nurses. Nurses were also complimented on their demonstrated
commitment to National Patient Safety Goals.
The surveyor
also stated “Staff is committed to good care,” “Excellent
care! Excellent service! Departments are very committed
and passionate about the care they provide.”
Upland
Hills Health is accredited by the Joint Commission. The
Joint Commission standards represent a national consensus
on quality patient care that reflects changing health care
practices and delivery trends. It is standard procedure
for surveyors to visit accredited healthcare organizations
for auditing purposes on an unexpected basis.
