Upland Hills Health holds Mad Hatters Tea Party
Brunch to thank volunteers

Over 30 volunteers braved blizzard conditions to join
in the fun at the Upland Hills Health Mad Hatters Tea Party
held on January 17th.
Volunteers and auxiliary members
came together at the Dodger Bowl for a hearty egg and sausage
breakfast.
After brief
presentations by Upland Hills Health Administrator Phyllis
Fritsch, new Foundation Director Tammie Richter and Volunteer
Coordinator Erin Groshek the group enjoyed a lively social
hour.
Comparing hats—from the stylish to the outrageous—even
those attending without hats were given hats to wear. These
extra hats came from Louise Donohue’s collection
of fun head gear.
The event wrapped up with a Tea Trivia
contest. Volunteers were given Upland Hills Health “Tees” and
funky Tea Pot hand bags.
“Volunteers and auxiliary
members make a positive difference at our hospital,” shared
Erin Groshek, Upland Hills Health Volunteer Coordinator. “Some
work with patients and are very visible—like our
greeters. Others work behind the scenes—merchandising
in the gift shop, planning fund raisers, or assisting staff
with projects—all of them make a big difference to
our patients, visitors and staff. This brunch is just a
small way of saying thanks.”
