The Best Babysitter is a Safe Sitter. Safe Sitter is a medically accurate, hands-on class that teaches boys and girls ages 11-13 how to handle emergencies when caring for children. The class will run from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on June 29th and 30th.

Safe Sitters learn: what to do when a child chokes, sitter safety, how to call for emergency help, babysitting business skills. In addition to these great skills, they also learn basic child care skills (diapering, feeding, etc.), how to entertain children and keep them safe, and infant and child CPR.

Young children cannot always communicate their needs or protect themselves. The babysitter must be able to handle whatever situation arises. Safe Sitter classes are available through Upland Hills Health. A fee of $60 covers the program and materials. Scholarships are available based on financial need.
