Have you ever wanted to climb on a fire truck?
Check out the inside of a helicopter?
Step inside a real live ambulance?
You can do that and more at Upland Hills Health’s
Family Safety Fair on Saturday May 5th.
The hospital’s emergency
services staff has teamed up with local law, fire, and county
officials to present safety information and education to
families. Topics will include everything from car seat and
home safety to gun and severe weather safety.
Plus Med Flight personnel will be here with the helicopter
to explain the benefits of their service in times of urgent
need.
Upland Hills Health RN and Trauma/Emergency Management Specialist
Lisa Faherty-Bilse explained, “This fair
is a fun way to get the word out on so many important safety
issues. We want the parents and children to know the resources
and the skills that could assist them in a crisis.”
Besides the educational aspect there promises to be lots
of fun--from build-your-own first aid kits to demonstrations,
balloons and giveaways. Even CRASH the Helmet character will
be there to greet the kids. Local radio personalities from
D99Point3 will be on location to interview the experts. All
events are free to the public.
Upland Hills Health’s Relay for Life team will run
a lunch stand with lots of home made goodies as a team fund-raising
project.
The Family Safety Day fair will take place in Upland Hills
Health’s North Lots and new ambulance garage. Participants
are asked to park on the streets north of the hospital or
use the staff parking accessed through the south drive. For
more information contact Upland Hills Health Community Relations
at 930-7112.
