Upland Hills Health received donation for Home
Care and Dialysis Services from United Fund of Iowa County
This last year United Fund of Iowa County donated over $60,000
to over 60 community organizations and designated charities.
Upland Hills Health was grateful for the $2,410 received
that will go towards equipment to enhance the delivery of
care for dialysis and home care patients.
“The money will be used to facilitate electronic reporting
and record keeping in the complex regimen of Dialysis. And
a Fluid Status Monitor will be purchased to help home care
staff track a patient’s progress—allowing for
earlier intervention for those needing additional care” shared
Upland Hills Health Foundation Director Tammie Richter. “I
was very impressed by the thoughtful manner in which the
United Fund of Iowa County volunteers evaluate and designate
contributions. They really are trying to maximize the positive
impact to the community.”
The United Fund of Iowa County receives some of its annual
donations from generous corporate and business donations.
But the majority of the funds raised come during their annual
fund drive in the fall. A simple mailing goes to county residents
asking for support. And as President, Charles Price explained, “the
community responds. In fact, 70% of the dollars we raise
come from individual donations. It’s neighbors reaching
into their own pockets to help neighbors.”
Organizations are encouraged to apply for grants in the
fall. Applications are due in January and interviews of applicants
are conducted by the end of February. For more information
