Upland Hills Health Healthcare Excellence in Your Community
Hospice: Volunteer Services

An experience you won't want to miss!

Volunteers provide personal comfort and support in the manner of a family friend or friendly neighbor. They supplement the cares provided by Hospice staff to improve the quality of life for our patients and their families. Whether it be holding a hand and listening, taking a patient to their favorite place in the park, playing their favorite music, reading their favorite book, walking the dog, picking up the dry cleaning or giving family members a break from care giving, a trained volunteer is honored to serve!

What Hospice Volunteers Do

  • Provide companionship.
  • Provide respite for the caregiver.
  • Assist with activities of daily living.
  • Transport/escort patient or family.
  • Run errands.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks.
  • Prepare meals.
  • Provide child care.
  • Assist patient with life review projects such as making an oral history or photo albums for family.

If you would like a volunteer to help you or your family, please inform hospice staff at any time.

You'll be so glad you did!
