Job Shadowing: How to get started
Welcome and thank you for your interest in job
shadowing at Upland Hills Health!
If you are interested in healthcare as a career, we would
like to give you the opportunity to job shadow a member of
our staff for some "on-the-job" insight. A job shadow opportunity
allows students to "try on" a career for a few hours before
investing dollars and time in education. Job shadows at Upland
Hills Health give students a better understanding of healthcare
careers.
Please read the following guidelines and download the necessary
files before contacting the Community Relations Department
to schedule your shadow experience. Do
not delay. It takes two to four weeks to coordinate your job
shadow experience.
Guidelines for Participants
- Bring any additional questions with you when you come
for your orientation session.
- Participants must be age 16 or older.
- Participants under 18 years of age require parent or
legal guardian signatures on the consent form and on the
health screening questionnaire.
- Two MMR immunization dates MUST be listed on the Health
Screening Questionnaire.
- Those without appropriate signatures may NOT take part.
- Job-shadowing Students must read and adhere to
the policy, including the dress code section. It
is important students present a favorable impression
on our patients and other customers. Neat and professional
appearance and personal cleanliness is required. Clothing
must be clean, pressed, fit appropriately and be suitable
for daytime wear. Business casual attire is appropriate.
- Do
NOT wear: denim jeans, tee shirts, cut-offs,
low-cut tops, hooded sweatshirts, hats, baseball caps.
Shorts or skirts, if worn, should be an appropriate
length. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum. Perfume
or cologne should not be worn in patient care areas.
