Madison Emergency Physicians (MEP), the group of board-certified emergency doctors that staff the Upland Hills Health Emergency Department, recently made a generous donation to Upland Hills Health, to purchase an Advanced Life Support mannequin, for training staff and community members.  
   
   
 
• Upland Hills Health Facilitates Men to Know their Numbers
 
   
Knowing your numbers (your cholesterol, blood pressure and blood glucose levels) is a great way to be proactive about your health. In response to many community requests, Upland Hills Health has launched a program just for the men in our communities to Know their Numbers.  
   
   
 
• Upland Hills Auxiliary Cookie & Candy Walk December 11
 
   
The annual Auxiliary Cookie & Candy Walk at Upland Hills Health will be held Friday, December 11th on the skywalk leading to the Nursing & Rehab Center. The sale will begin at 9 am and go until the goodies are gone.  
   
   
 
• Upland Hills Health Drug and Alcohol program earns Award
 
   
Upland Hills Health recently received a Service Delivery Innovation award from the Wisconsin Initiative to Promote Healthy Lifestyles. Upland Hills Health is the only healthcare organization in Wisconsin to offer the Wisconsin Initiative to Promote Healthy Lifestyle program in the Emergency Department.

• Dr. Sarah Fox Joins Active Medical Staff at Upland Hills Health
 
   
Upland Hills Health is proud to announce that Dr. Sarah Fox has joined the active medical staff. Dr. Fox is certified in Family Medicine and includes obstetrics in her practice.  
   
   
 
• Upland Hills Health Welcomes Acupuncturist
 
   
Jim Wenger has recently joined the team at the Upland Hills Wellness Center as an acupuncturist.  
   
   
 
• Kiwanis Club Donates Gazebo to Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center
 
   
The Dodgeville Kiwanis Club has pledged funds and volunteer help to build a new gazebo on the West end of the Nursing and Rehab Center adjacent to Highway 23.  
   
   
 
• Med Flight One Crew Memorialized Outside Emergency Department
 
   
The Upland Hills Health Foundation Board of Directors would like to announce that a bench in honor and celebration of the lives of Mark Coyne, Steve Lipperer, and Dr. Darren Bean, the Flight Crew from the May 10, 2008 Med Flight One tragedy, has been recently placed outside the Emergency Services door.  
   
   
 
• Local 4-H Group Volunteers To Make Hospital Patio Bloom
 
   
Recently, members of Linden’s Kountry Kousins 4-H group volunteered their time and talents to create a more welcoming outdoor patio area at Upland Hills Health. Armed with gardening tools and flats of flowers, the members of the group turned the patio area into a magnificent display for patients, visitors and employees to enjoy.  
   
   
 
• Child Abuse Symposium Hosted by Upland Hills Health
 
   
Dr. Barbara Knox, M.D., visited Upland Hills Health in May to educate area healthcare, law enforcement workers, social workers and EMTs on crimes against children. Her lecture centered on indentifying signs of physical and sexual abuse in children, appropriate diagnostic testing for suspected abuse, and recognizing normal variants that mimic abuse.  
   
   
 
• Upland Hills Health Educates 2nd Graders on the Value of Eating Right
 
   
Getting children to eat healthy and eat vegetables is not an easy task for any one. Recently, Upland Hills Health Registered Dietitian Jaime Austin and Dr. Jodi McGraw traveled to Ridgeway Elementary School with a few tricks up their sleeves to show Mrs. Venden’s 2nd grade class that eating right can be fun and still include the foods they love.  
   
   
 
• Upland Hills Health Physicians Receive High Honors
 
   
Upland Hills Health is very proud to showcase two members of the active medical staff that have recently won very prestigious awards.  
   
   
 
• Local Artist Contributes to Upland Hills Dialysis Center
 
   
Individuals receiving dialysis treatments are required at a minimum to receive treatments 3 times a week. Typically, the treatments will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with the average treatment lasting 4 hours. This information was provided to dozens of local artisans who toured Upland Hills Health several months ago.  
   
   
 
• Upland Hills Health new Main Lobby Opening February 17th
 
   
The Building for Excellence project is now complete! Beginning Tuesday, February 17th, all patients at Upland Hills Health will enter the building from the West entrances, visible from the highway.  
   
   
 
• Brian Mester’s Memory Honored by Family & Friends with Donation to Upland Hills Health
 
   
To honor Brian Mester, who passed away in 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer, his family and friends organized the second annual Brian Mester Memorial ride, a 125 mile motorcycle ride to raise money for organizations Brian would have been proud to support.
